Highly French Polished Doors and Panels (Posted 17/09/2024)

These doors were stained and grain filled.  Then skinned in and French Polished up to a very high shine where they aer completed with a mirror finished.

The following Video shows the highest level of French Polishing that can be achieved.

Artwood French Polishers have the skills to French Polish from bare wood right the way through to complete high shine finish.  If required we can produce a mirror finish on doors, staircases and rails, furniture and panels using traditional French Polishing techniques.

How to Accomplish the Work?

To achieve this kind of finish requires patience and finesse.  A clean environment is required.  After staining. sealing and grain filling, the surfaces are bodied up with a French Polishers rubber infused with Shellac (French Polish).

Completion

The bodying up process creates a deep colour and caramel type texture.  Even though the surface has a lot of product applied the wood can still be seen through the translucent polish.  This is why we believe that French Polishing is the King of finishes.

Once completed and finished using an alcohol rubber one can see ones reflection in the surface.  This is shown on the picture below.
